Global Aid Network Warehouse/Distribution Center
Update and Repair Needs
Processing and Shipping Since Acquiring the Warehouse
In September 2005 Global Aid Network purchased a 66,000 square-foot warehouse with five acres of land in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. Since that time the warehouse has been a whirlwind of activity with work projects of major proportions held seasonally and ongoing shipment of loads of items already processed. This facility has become a gathering place with the atmosphere of a "homecoming event" for families, church groups, schools, as well as friends who have traveled on Global Aid Network short-term mission trips. Each work project involves thousands of volunteers from the local area and from all across the United States
Having a permanent warehouse building has allowed the ministry to actively work throughout the year to receive, process and ship truck-sized containers of compassionate aid to destinations all around the world: from numerous African nations, to Central Asia, Guatemala, Pakistan, the Middle East, the former Soviet Union, as well as more than 60 truck loads to U.S. locations on the Gulf Coast that were affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.among others.
We give praise to the Lord that He has supplied all the money for our roof repair!
Our operation of the warehouse building has been a time of renovations, transforming a former fish hatchery into a place for processing, storage, and shipment of humanitarian aid. It also now offices staff members who work here and includes a meal preparation area to provide lunches for volunteer workers. In the renovation process, it was discovered that the building would needed extensive and expensive repairs to the massive roof.
During the Fall 2006 Work Project at the Pennsylvania Warehouse, we shared the need to repair the roof. It was determined that the cost of the repairs would be $152,000. Generous donations given by many individuals, churches, and other organizations totaling $76,000 along with a matching gift of $76,000 enabled us to proceed with this project. Major, long-lasting repairs to the roof were completed in May 2007—right after our Spring Warehouse Work Project.
Your help is still needed in continuing the improvements and repairs to our warehouse! We are in need of several major projects, to include the leveling and finishing of the floor in Gospel Hall. In addition we need to put in several dehumidification units in our warehouse to reduce the summertime humidity buildup that results in mold and mildew situations in this former fish hatchery. Would you consider continuing to help with these projects to repair the warehouse? We need to keep moving forward with our necessary repairs to make sure we do not cause a disruption to the outreach of compassionate aid.
Yes, I would like to donate a gift for warehouse renovations to help Global Aid Network continue to reach out to needy souls with compassionate aid!
