2007 Trips

Join Global Aid Network in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean boys

Why go?   Zimbabwe, formerly known as Southern Rhodesia until it gained independence from British rule, is slightly larger than the state of Montana.  It is probably most famous for the Victoria Falls, discovered by missionary Dr. David Livingston in 1855.  In recent years Zimbabweans have been suffering immensely because of drought, the HIV/AIDS epidemic - affecting 20% of the population and a poor economy.  Unemployment is as high as 80%.  In the midst of such pain God is moving in people’s hearts.

Global Aid Network will serve alongside a local partner ministry who planted 300 new churches in 2004 through an effort known as Project Jericho.

Who can go?  This trip is two fold. Part of the team will be conducting medical clinics. Besides medical personnel we are seeking participants who will assist in the clinic by checking people in, crowd control, playing with kids and families that come and looking for ways to share your faith with those who are attending the clinic. The other part of the team will be distributing humanitarian aid. There is the possibility that this team will minister in schools and churches nearby and possibly help with light construction work. Conditions are rural with very little amenities.

Where we’ll go?  Short-term mission participants will fly into the capital of Harare and drive up to the city of Mudzi located in the Northeast part of the country.
