Bags of Blessing for the Middle East
Daily we hear horrible stories about terrorists’ bombings in the Middle East. But despite the violence, you can have an incredible gospel impact in this same area ... through Bags of Blessing! Past Bags of Blessing distributions have opened ministry doors and helped to bring about a tremendous response to the gospel, and also helped save physical lives through providing essential food.
Since its inception in 2004, our Christian partners have distributed over 60,000 Bags of Blessing -- reaching over one-half million people! Their future plans call for even greater expansion while the "door of opportunity" remains open. Should funding be provided, our partners tell us what could be possible:
-
They can reach another 38,000 or more families. This could represent 250,000 more people who are likely unreached with the gospel.
-
They expect to respond to requests for 75,000 CDs of an evangelistic film about the life of Jesus. Each of these films could be seen by an estimated 10+ people, potentially impacting hundreds of thousands of people!
-
God's Word could go into 15,000 homes for the first time through the Bibles they hope to pass out.
-
Josh McDowell's books will be distributed. They are picked specifically to show the Bible's relevancy and salvation through Christ to the people of the predominant religion of this area.
-
To help reach the vast number of children in the region, they are hoping to also distribute hundreds of thousands of children's Bible story coloring books with the Bags of Blessing.
-
They are praying that the distribution will lead to over 20,000 one on one evangelistic contacts. This is very significant, because under local law they can only share Christ when a person requests it.
From this beginning, they hope to start at least 16 follow-up groups throughout this country, from which they hope to see 150 new students enter into in-depth training at their discipleship center. Finally, they expect to plant three new churches as a result.
Can you believe this type of ministry can take place in an area that has been closed to the gospel for decades? This kind of opportunity is truly exciting! Global Aid Network is committed to getting aid to desperately needy people, while ensuring the gospel goes forth along with it.
Currently, Global Aid Network is the only ministry that is partnering with these missionaries. So any gift prayerfully given is vitally needed and greatly. Our primary contact tells us that because of all the unrest caused by terrorists, the need for the food in the Bags of Blessing is "vast, and increasing." On prior occasions, they have said that the missionaries simply can't make the evangelistic contacts without the "door opener" of the Bags of Blessing. So providing the Bags of Blessing is absolutely pivotal in the gospel going forth to these multitudes of unreached people.
A gift of $39 will help provide aid to feed a desperate family of 7 for a week and likely see them receive God's Word and gospel literature. And your gift of $78, $156, $312, or $936 (for 2, 4, 8, or 24 Bags of Blessing) will deliver aid in the name of Christ to help 14, 28, 56, or 168 innocent people who now are suffering so much. Plus Bibles, videos about the life of Jesus, children's Bible storybooks, Josh McDowell's books, and more will be distributed. Your gift will help open the door so likely dozens, if not hundreds, will have the opportunity to hear the transforming message of Christ.
